As my hero, Chris McCandless so eloquently states, "Happiness is best when shared.", I would like to share my happiness with anyone and everyone reading this.  This first post and website in general, represent the culmination of a dream to have my own place to practice art and share art with humanity.  A place to show off the grandeur of misty mountains, waterfalls, soaring cloud formations, valleys far below granite peaks and the smiles which adorn the faces of fellow humans who trod this planet of ours.

For those who may not know much about me, I am happy to share a little here.  As many people have asked in the past, "Why Lost Soul?  Isn't that dark, sad and unsettling?".  "Lost Soul" is much more than a person not finding their place, but rather, it is a celebration of the photographer, the dreamer, the poet, the adventurer and the seeker of knowledge.  Getting lost in the pursuit of a dream; the good lost.  The kind of lost that intensifies and resolves the heart to always want to be the best it can be at whatever the person is doing.  This is the genesis of "Lost Soul Imaging".  This is the root in which I live, love and create.  

Photography has become a new love of mine and something I am constantly thinking about; when I am not daydreaming about being in Yosemite National Park or when I'll be sipping another cup of coffee (a similar obsession).  Early on, I found that art in the traditional sense, was not my thing; I can't draw, paint or sculpt worth a darn.  I found that I do have a knack for words and the English language.  So, doing what came natural, I wrote.  I wrote and wrote and wrote some more.  And I still continue to write.  I found that writing (poetry is the genre I connect and resonate with) offered an unbelievable release and way to harness all those daydreams, nightmares and glimpse into my everyday life.  The only thing with writing is that people tend to identify writing with the Literature classes they took in school and the mere mention of poetry makes eyes roll into the back of the head and drooling to commence.  Enter photography.  This artform offers such an amazing medium.  The viewer instantly feels connection and a feeling when the image is examined.  Conclusions are drawn, daydreams begin and questions fly through the viewer's mind.   Photos have the inherent ability to stimulate the mind, cause excitement in the heart and stir the soul on so many levels.  It's next to impossible to see a photo and not really and truly think about it.  That's the definition of art, and anyone can be an artist.

It is my hope that the images here both stimulate the mind, excite the heart and stir the soul.  Each of the images contain those feelings and sensations.  The drive to capture them and then convey them to the viewer in the manner it touched me, has always been my (and any photographers) end goal.  

A final little bit of insight into me would be that I love to hike, write, deep think and daydream.  I love where I grew up, my University (Penn State) and Northern California.  The mountains and dramatic scenery we have here is, in my opinion, second to none.  Putting my boots on, grabbing my Canon 5D Mark III and a few lenses (I typically carry a few including the 70-200mm f/2.8, 85mm f/1.8, 24-105 f/4 and the 24mm f/1.4) and getting lost on a High Sierra trail.  Well, not lost per se, but we covered what my definition of "lost" is.
